Ali Moss Wrote About How Trump’s Anti-Trans Campaign Are Similar To Hitler’s Playbook

by | April 17, 2025

For HuffPost, Ali Moss wrote about how she’s horrified that Trump’s anti-trans actions echo Hitler’s crackdown on the LGBTQ+ community in Germany. In her essay, Moss notes how after taking office, Hitler shut down a research center that specialized in gender-affirming care. This foreshadowed the Nazis’ broader plan to eradicate “un-German” elements of society. Moss argues that there are echoes of that effort in the Trump administration’s recent actions of erasing any mention of trans people in the federal government.

She told Study Hall, “I wrote from my perspective as the mother of a trans 11-year-old and granddaughter of a German-Jewish refugee about connections between Trump’s persecution of trans Americans and Hitler’s anti-LGBTQ+ actions.”

Moss’s writing has appeared in Business Insider and Buzzfeed.
