Amy McVay Abbott Profiled Homeowners Who Downsized

For Next Avenue, Amy McVay Abbott interviewed three families who decided to downsize. Abbott also spoke to a realtor about the “stay or go question.” 

Abbott told Study Hall, “As a late-Boomer (born in ’57), the choices others are making about downsizing or aging in place are fascinating to me. I wrote about how various choices have manifested for those in different circumstances as we ponder leaving our family home.”

She added, “I was surprised by a single woman who is staying alone in her large Victorian, though it is a beautiful and well-cared-for property. Readers may see a bit of themselves in each of the people I spoke with, and gain insight from a California realtor.”
