Ciara Moloney Wrote About An Underseen John Ford Film

by | April 28, 2025

For Crooked Marque, Ciara Moloney wrote about John Ford’s film Wagon Master for its 75th anniversary. Moloney told Study Hall that the film is “underrated.” In her essay, Moloney reflects on how the film is “a sincere, open-hearted film that drives ceaselessly towards solidarity. It’s about how outsiders can find community with each other.”

Moloney’s writing has appeared in MUBI Notebook, Current Affairs, Paste Magazine, and other outlets.

I wrote about John Ford’s underrated Mormon western Wagon Master for Crooked Marquee on its 75th anniversary.
