Ellen Acconcia Wrote About “Rosy Retrospection”

For Eurasia Review, Ellen Acconcia wrote about “the danger of  ‘rosy retrospection’” by contemplating her time in Communist Romania. 

Acconcia told Study Hall, “I wanted to juxtapose the longing for equality that many people today seem to equate with socialism/communism, with my real life experience observing life behind the Iron Curtain. I was inspired by a piece I read that reported that nearly half of Romanians thought life was better under the Ceasescu dictatorship.”
