LeKachman told Study Hall, “I wrote about trying to cope with my rare hair loss disease, including both the physical treatment and the mental toll of convincing myself, as a 25-year-old woman, that I am not a middle-aged man just because I do a comb-over to hide the sparse spots on my scalp.”
