Study Hall Member Allie Hutchison Wrote An Essay About Learning to Live After Her Husband’s Suicide

by | July 2, 2024

For Al Jazeera, Allie Hutchison wrote an essay about learning to live after her husband’s suicide. She describes it as her “personal transformation from the inside out after the unthinkable.” According to Hutchison, this story “speaks to all kinds of trauma and shame and how they can be looked at not as endings, but as a ground zero for rebuilding oneself with radical honesty. I also hope this story will promote more vulnerability around how we approach mental health.”

Hutchison’s writing has appeared in MIT Technology Review, Business Insider, and Inverse
