Study Hall Subscriber Dante A. Ciampaglia Wrote A Feature on Ken Loach’s Films

by | May 14, 2024

For The Brooklyn Rail, Dante A. Ciampaglia, a Study Hall subscriber, wrote a critical feature on the films of Ken Loach.  According to Ciampaglia, his essay is “timed to the release of his latest (and likely last) film, ‘The Old Oak,’ but it’s always a good time to talk about the filmmaker, whose cinema is an invitation to class confrontation, conversation, and solidarity.” In the feature,  Ciampaglia argues that “we must look elsewhere for honest narratives centered on the invisible engines of our global, algorithmic, hyper-individualistic society. When we do, we find the films of Ken Loach.”
