For Adventure Uncovered, Benjamin Swift, a Study Hall member, reported on how the Cholitas Escaladoras, a group of Bolivian Indigenous women climbers, are on a mission to climb Everest against the backdrop of climate change. According to Swift, “as the ice thaws and changes, conversations about racism and sexism in a colonized society are also changing, if at a more glacial pace. For one, the same men who once called their dreams crazy now support their climbing goals.”
