Ilana Masad Joined Three Book Critics To Discuss The State Of Brook Criticism
For The Writer’s Chronicle, Ilana Masad participated in a roundtable about “appalling the state of book criticism” alongside fellow Freelance Solidarity Project members Daniel Felsenthal, Maris Kreizman, and Kristen Martin. In the conversation, the panelists discussed book criticism from a labor perspective.
Masad states, “Truly, I don’t know that it’s possible to make a full-time living as a freelance critic. Especially if you’re living anywhere that is, you know, a city.”
Masad’s writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Washington Post.
