Michael Piantini Reviewed The Film “Pepe”
For Hyperallergic, Michael Piantini wrote a review of Nelson Carlo De Los Santos Arias’s film Pepe, a film which follows “a real-life Colombian hippopotamus’s final thoughts as he gains the ability to recount his entire life.”
Piantini writes, “It is disarming how captivatingly beautiful hippos are in Pepe, but the truth of the matter is that humans are often too ensconced in their own narratives to notice.”
Piantini’s writing has appeared in New York Review of Architecture, Film Inquiry, and other outlets.
