For Heat Death, Stephen Lurie used the 30th anniversary of the album “Jock Jams Vol. 1” to reflect on how “the relationship between sports and music has completely transformed in this one generation.”
Lurie told Study Hall, “Professional stadiums are basically concert venues; gyms feature hundreds of independent musical experiences. The fusion of exercise & sound in this era has been unprecedented and profound — built on a series of technological innovations, but in turn shaping our culture, our bodies, and our minds.
