Gillian Goodman Wrote An Essay About Crafting Baby Food Commercials
Gillian Goodman wrote an essay reflecting on their experience crafting “perfect American families” for baby commercials. Goodman told Study Hall, “This piece was selected for Lux and Dirt’s The Way We Work competition, alongside the Economic Hardship Reporting Project. Before journalism, I spent 6+ years in advertising. Many of those I spent working for a major baby food company, crafting aspirational families by way of commercials. Here, I finally got a chance to spill my secrets and reflect on what it was like to create a fiction consumed by millions.”
