Amy Abbott Wrote About Managing Retirement
For Business Insider, Amy Abbott wrote about how she initially felt lost when she retired. In the piece, Abbott wrote about how she “adjusted emotionally.” The piece discusses how though she was prepared financially for retirement, there was a mental element she wasn’t prepared for. She wrote, “I read articles by retirement gurus but most focused on finances, not purpose and meaning. I knew my laissez-faire method of living wasn’t working for me. I felt disengaged from the world and not a part of anything.”
In her article, she shared how she learned to start a schedule and find structure.
Abbott’s writing has appeared in HuffPost, Next Avenue, AARP, and other outlets.
