For Compact Mag, Alanna Schubach wrote about a 1990s scandal which involved the former president of American university, her alma mater. Drawing from archival research and her own . analysis, she reflects on how the former president’s “path to redemption seems impossible to imagine today.”  She contemplates the evolving concepts of mercy, forgiveness, and progress within the age of #MeToo, and ponders how society as a whole can embrace a more nuanced definition of redemption.
