For Thrillist, Micaela Kimball wrote about the working lives of salsa dance teachers in Havana, Cuba and the thriving Latin dance community there in the face of the country’s current economic crisis. In her piece, Kimball reports on how despite the financial crisis in Cuba, “ the island will continue to birth new talent, who will in turn attract an international salsa crowd and that music and dance is part of the “country’s soul.”

Kimball’s previous writing has appeared in Boston Globe Media, Grammy Award Music News, and NPR/WBUR
