RESOURCE OF THE WEEK
Freelance journalism and therapy should go together like Emily in Paris and a dumpster fire, but it’s not always easy to find affordable mental healthcare. That’s why Sonia Weiser created the Black Journalists Therapy Relief Fund in May, a fund that provides financial assistance to Black journalists facing financial hardship who can’t afford to pay for the mental health support they need. Now, thanks to a new partnership with the International Women’s Media Foundation, the fund has been combined with the US Journalism Emergency Fund for any US-based journalist of any gender who needs financial assistance for mental health services, legal support, and other professional costs. You can apply for both here.
